One hundred years on and the US is still making the same mistakes...

As investors in equities (Australian or otherwise), we are exposed to factors that may stem from the practices of those seemingly far removed from the operation of companies we invest in. For instance, overly-optimistic US property speculators, foul residential property lending practices, opportunistic investment bankers and a lack of appropriate governance in the US led to the sub-prime crisis. It wasn’t our fault, but our portfolios may have suffered. So to remain mindful of historical corrections, we have included a book review this week.
