About Us

The four directors of The Rivkin Report and Rivkin Securities are pictured from left to right: Scott Schuberg, Shannon Rivkin, Jordan Rivkin and Kristian Dibble.

This section contains biographies of permanent Rivkin staff members, encompassing employees from both The Rivkin Report and Rivkin Securities. These people represent members of our Executive Team, Investment Team, Private Client Adviser Team, Marketing Team, Compliance Team and Client Services Team. In addition to the employees listed below, The Rivkin Report employs external analysts on a consultative basis.

Tarfaya Nominee Pty Ltd, trading as The Rivkin Report, and Rivkin Securities Pty Ltd are individually licensed, separate companies.

Kristian Dibble, CEO/Managing Director, The Rivkin Report

Kristian's first share investment was FAI Life at the age of 17. Reading the newspaper each day, he saw it go from his purchase price of around 80c all the way up to around $1.80, only to see it go straight back down to where he bought it. The lesson learned? Without any idea of the value of an investment, it is difficult, if not impossible, to know when to buy, hold or sell.

Kristian went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce followed by a Diploma in Financial Planning. He has worked as a Financial Planner and Accountant, which has provided him with a sound analytical attitude towards investments. He is director and Chief Executive Officer of The Rivkin Report and a director of Rivkin Securities Pty Ltd.

Shannon Rivkin, CIO/Director, The Rivkin Report

Under the mentorship of his father Rene Rivkin, Shannon developed an early passion for equity markets, joining The Rivkin Report Investment Team in 2002 and completing his Diploma in Financial Markets in 2004. He is now director and Chief Investment Officer of The Rivkin Report, overseeing the house investment process. He is also a director of Rivkin Securities Pty Ltd.

Shannon is an event-driven trader by nature and is a staunch believer in the importance of independence and integrity associated with The Rivkin Report and the advice which it contains.

Patrick Stewart, Equity Analyst

Patrick joined The Rivkin Report in the beginning of 2008, after some extensive travelling and completing two years of full time study. Patrick is currently completing his degree in Communications through the University of Notre Dame. Patrick has long had a keen interest in the stock market, after inheriting a small number of bank shares as young teenager, and seeing how those little pieces of paper provided him with money (dividends) twice a year. Excited by this prospect, Patrick's interest in stocks only grew.

Phillip Geurs, Senior Private Client Adviser

Phillip was second in charge of operations at Rivkin Discount Stockbroking before becoming a SEATS operator. He has a great working knowledge of settlement and clearing issues.

With level two Accredited Derivatives Adviser status, Phillip was head of the options desk at Avcol Securities and thus heads the options and warrants services at Rivkin Securities. He can advise clients when pricing options strategies as well as regular equity and warrant trades.

Dion Rivkin, Senior Private Client Adviser

After beginning his broking career at Rivkin Discount Stockbroking, Dion remained a private client adviser at Avcol Securities before moving to Aequs Securities, a Sydney-based full-service broking firm.

As an experienced SEATS operator with derivatives experience, Dion assists clients by working large orders or posturing positions in illiquid securities. He has a very keen eye for price action and watches the market avidly.

Jordan Rivkin, Director, Private Client Adviser

In 1996, Jordan graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature). In 1997, he joined his father and Nigel at The Rivkin Report as Editor. Jordan completed his Diploma of Financial Markets from the Securities Institute of Australia in 2004, and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at The University of Sydney.

Jordan has written two books on stock market investing and after speaking with investors and subscribers of The Rivkin Report for over 10 years, Jordan is our ambassador for client education and market psychology. Jordan is a director of both The Rivkin Report and Rivkin Securities Pty Ltd.

Scott Schuberg, CEO/Managing Director, Rivkin Securities

After trading Australian shares from the age of 18 and working under Rene Rivkin and Nigel Littlewood until his mid-twenties, Scott spent time working within capital markets and asset management in London.

He held research-related roles at The London Stock Exchange, UBS Asset Management, BNP Paribas Asset Management and Henderson Global Investors before returning to Sydney, briefly spending time at Colonial First State Global Asset Management.

Scott is managing director/CEO of Rivkin Securities Pty Ltd and a director of The Rivkin Report.

Benjamin Scott, Private Client Adviser

After excelling in high school and majoring in economics and marketing during his Bachelor of Commerce studies, Ben spent time as a property developer following his graduation. His understanding of the supply/demand characteristics of real estate provided a natural foundation for him to build a passion and appreciation for the stock market.

Ben's experience working for Kale Capital, a private investment company, gave him the calm attitude required to deal with transactions that result in profits and losses. He is a member of the Rivkin Securities Private Client Advisor Team.

Kate Marsden, Marketing Executive

Kate joined The Rivkin Report at the beginning of 2007 after completing a Bachelor of Graphic Design and a Diploma in Fine Arts. Kate also spent several years working in London for a publishing house. Kate also pursued her interest in art with her role as Art Director for a publishing company.

It was on Kate's return that she took a position with The Rivkin Report as the Marketing Co-ordinator, while completing a Post Graduate in Marketing at the University of Technology in Sydney. Kate is responsible for all above and below the line marketing activity for The Rivkin Report and Rivkin Securities Pty Ltd.

Stephene Cherrington, Receptionist/Administrative Coordinator

After spending time promoting, educating and exciting the public about a highly-popular consumer product, Stephene picked up the people skills required to help us maintain our commitment to treating Rivkin Report members and Rivkin Securities clients like family.

During her administrative and assisting roles at a publishing house and boutique legal firm in Sydney, Stephene also learned the importance of keeping an office efficient and organised, a quality that is highly regarded at Rivkin.

Perri Reynolds, Receptionist/Administrative Coordinator

Perri completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Leeds in the UK. From there she realised countless achievements relating to charities, youth work and medical programs in the UK before migrating to Australia in 2009.

A combination of her formal qualifications, project management experience and administrative experience makes her a valuable member of our middle office team, ensuring that the establishment and ongoing management of Rivkin Securities and Rivkin Report client relationships are soundly conducted.

Gregory Freckman, Group Compliance Manager

Greg started as a chalkie in 1983 on the floor of the Sydney Stock Exchange, before becoming the youngest licensed floor operator in 1984. In 1987 Greg began working at Rivkin James Capel, mainly focused on options and program trading. In 1992, Greg moved to the Sydney Futures Exchange as a pit trader for Bell Commodities in options and futures. 1995 saw Greg become a local trader on his own account in both the options and futures markets.

In 1998 Greg left the SFE to run private enterprises in the clothing and entertainment field. Greg returned back to the world of finance in 2005, acting as a private consultant for several small businesses. He now acts as Compliance Officer for both The Rivkin Report and Rivkin Securities Pty Ltd.

James Kennedy, Business Development Manager
